This project focused on designing the critical flows that enable users to enter the platform and handle real-money transactions. In a gambling context, onboarding, identity verification, and payments are tightly connected — and any friction or confusion directly impacts both user trust and conversion.

Overview
I approached this as a set of interconnected flows rather than isolated screens, mapping the full user journey from sign-up to verified play and transaction management.
Starting with onboarding, I defined a mobile-first flow to minimise friction and ensure accessibility across devices. This included structuring sign-up, verification (KYC), and account setup into clear, manageable steps that guide users without overwhelming them.
For the cashier experience, I accounted for multiple transaction scenarios — including deposits, withdrawals, PIN management, and two-factor authentication — as well as different currencies and payment methods. Each state, from successful transactions to errors and pending states, was designed to provide clear feedback and maintain user trust throughout the process.
Challenge
The main challenge was balancing two competing priorities: reducing friction to support user conversion, while introducing the necessary steps for security, compliance, and financial operations.
Onboarding and KYC flows often introduce drop-off points, so the experience needed to feel simple and guided, even as users provide sensitive information. At the same time, the cashier flow required handling multiple edge cases — such as failed transactions, verification states, and security checks — without creating confusion or anxiety.
Designing these flows meant carefully structuring information, providing clear feedback at every step, and ensuring users always understand what is happening and what is required of them.
Design Process
To handle the complexity of trust and transaction flows, I approached the product as two interconnected systems: onboarding & identity verification, and financial transactions. Each required different design considerations, while maintaining a consistent experience across the platform.
Onboarding & KYC — Entry and Verification
I started by mapping the full onboarding journey, from sign-up to account verification, focusing on reducing friction while maintaining clarity around required steps. Since these flows often introduce drop-off points, the goal was to guide users through the process in a way that feels simple and predictable.
I structured the experience into clear, progressive steps, ensuring users always understand what information is required and why. Sensitive actions — such as identity verification — were supported with clear feedback and contextual guidance to build trust and reduce uncertainty.
Cashier — Transactions and Account Control
The cashier experience required handling a wide range of scenarios, including deposits, withdrawals, PIN management, and two-factor authentication, as well as multiple currencies and payment methods.
I focused on making transaction states explicit and easy to understand, designing clear feedback for success, failure, and pending states. Special attention was given to edge cases — such as insufficient funds or interrupted transactions — to ensure users always have visibility and control over their actions.
Collaboration & Implementation
Throughout the project and implementation phase, I worked closely with the development team to ensure the designs were feasible and accounted for real-world constraints. We aligned on edge cases, transaction states, and system behaviours early on, refining flows based on technical considerations and ensuring consistency between design and implementation.
Outcome
The final solution connects onboarding, identity verification, and financial transactions into a cohesive, trust-driven experience. Users are guided from account creation to verified play through clear, structured flows that reduce friction while maintaining transparency around required steps. By making transaction states explicit and handling edge cases upfront, the experience helps reduce confusion and builds confidence when interacting with real-money features.
